Today John Deere sells 23 P-Tier excavators, from the 3,920 lb 17 P-Tier to the 188,716 lb 870 P-Tier. The P-Tier lineup at a glance
- Compact excavators: six models, the 17 through the 60 P-Tier, from 18.52 hp to 53 hp.
- Mid-size excavators: twelve models from the 75 to the 380 P-Tier, 67.6 hp to 271 hp, plus the 223 hp 300 P-Tier.

Digging depth on the large excavators is a range because Deere offers several boom and arm combinations on each.
John Deere 350 and 380 P-Tier
Deere lists up to 7% better fuel economy than the 350G LC and 380G LC they are compared against, along with improved front-joint durability and a redesigned hood that makes service and cooler access easier. A control pattern-change valve comes standard, so operators can switch patterns with the flip of a lever.
For grade control, Deere offers 2D or 3D Excavator Grade Guidance, or fully integrated SmartGrade for 3D control with overdig protection and real-time distance to target in the cab. All of these grade options are factory ready.
The two machines share a 271 hp engine and the same listed reach, depth and dump height. The 380 is the heavier machine.
